Jasminka Chenich-Gabrie

With 10 years of experience already behind her, 1995 was a pivotal year for Jasminka who decided to “turn lemons into lemonade” and found Galerie Gabrie.  Relieved of her previous position as a gallery director, Jasminka was resolute in creating and building a business incorporating everything she thought was important to the collecting experience as well as something she could be proud of. “I am very aware of the fact that people with disposable income can spend it anywhere. We are eager to be the ones you choose. People work very hard these days to create what they have and spend a lot of time enhancing their homes and creating beautiful surroundings in which they can relax. We are basically in the service business. The best art expert is you – you know your likes and dislikes, you know what you can afford, and what you need. We are only here to assist our clients in making these decisions, particularly where the very collectible masters paintings are being offered. I believe that it is our calling to offer the finest available on the market and present art with dignity. Our clients don’t need to be prodded by "experts” - they recognize a good thing when they see it!”

Since its inception, Galerie Gabrie has offered the many services you will find listed here on the website. In addition, the gallery has been a source of endless information for clients, prospective clients, artists, and art lovers  hosting numerous lectures on a variety of topics of interest as well as over 45 exhibits, either solo or group. Holiday open houses, art walks, and participation in community events are a regular occurrence.  Galerie Gabrie is Busy making a mark in the Pasadena community as well as representing Pasadena and the California plein air movement throughout other states and abroad.

Through the years Galerie Gabrie has offered its walls as a stepping-stone for many artists who dreamed of a place to show their work when none could be found. Today, we enjoy good relationships with artists who have gone on to other things and have continued their success but always remain friendly with “the gallery that gave them a chance”. “Helping launch an artist’s career is very important to me. It’s rewarding to know you can help people realize their dreams. There are many new venues available to artists today in which they can show their paintings, but I still contend that the most prestigious place is a reputable fine art gallery. Annual shows, group paint-outs, and other events are a nice way for artists to meet and work together, but there's nothing like your own solo exhibit where collectors come just to focus on one artist’s work and then add it to their collection.  At the gallery, one can meet the artist personally and begin to understand how these relationships work together.  It’s the artist, the gallery, and the clients.”
